Delegation
The higher up you go on your career ladder, the more important - and more difficult - delegation becomes. Of the CEOs and VPs I coach, this is super common. Trusting others for something your career hinges on...that's rarely easy.
For frontline managers, though, I think navigating these waters is tricky in a different way than it is for executives. You're probably one of the many leads who is expected to be a contributor as well as a leader. Balancing the workload, trying not to overwork your team, and striving to maintain your own well-being in the process...that's tough. That's double tough.
In this video I'll talk about how to figure out what you should delegate vs what you should personally handle. I'll cover typical reasons delegation fails, and I'll share examples from my time as a lead on a AAA project. At the end, though, it's going to be up to you to decide on your own model for making decisions around delegation.
